First podium finish in North America

During the summer Kevin Estre clinched two more podium finishes bringing his total to seven so far for the 2014 season. The one at Mosport had a particular flavor to it for the French driver as it was his first on North American soil and in the GTD category in the United SportsCar Championship. Kevin also left his mark on the German round of the Porsche Supercup. However, in both the Spa 24 Hours and the VLN the results were not in keeping with the sheer performance of the works McLaren GT driver.

Kevin Estre stamps his class on two world-famous circuits

In the space of two weekends Kevin Estre set pole on two European tracks that are among the longest, the most difficult and the most prestigious in the world. He lapped the long Sarthe circuit quicker than 61 Porsche Cups identical to his own in the curtain-raiser for the Le Mans 24 Hours. In his first Nürburgring 24 Hours Estre not only gave Dörr Motorsport pole in the team’s McLaren GT, but his time of 8m 10.921sec is also a new record for the 25km 378-metre long layout. In addition, in both the Sarthe and at the ‘Ring the French driver set the fastest lap in the race: all that was missing was victory!

6 weekends, 7 races, 4 top-3 finishes including 2 victories!

Between the end of April and the end of May Kevin Estre strung together six meetings on five different circuits with four teams without a break! While Lady Luck hasn’t smiled on him in the United States the works McLaren GT driver has been more successful in the VLN and Blancpain Endurance Series with 2nd place finishes at the wheel of the Dörr Motorsport and ART Grand Prix McLaren 12C GT3s. Kevin and his team-mates currently lead the Blancpain Endurance Series standings. The Frenchman also drove the GW IT Racing Team Schütz Motorsport Porsche to a telling double victory in a one-off appearance in the ADAC GT Masters.
