Victory in LM GTE Pro in the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans, a world championship title in 2019 and the arrival of a baby boy, Tommy, in 2020! After his programme as a works Porsche Motorsport driver has recently been announced, Kévin Estre looks back at the year just ending and ahead to 2021 with confidence and determination although he can’t help thinking about 2023!
In June 2018, Kévin Estre won the LM GTE Pro category in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, certainly his biggest victory to date. A year later he achieved another major milestone in his sporting career by winning the GT FIA World Endurance Drivers’ Championship after an exceptional super season that lasted more than 13 months. The Frenchman and his Danish team-mate, Michael Christensen, completed the 85 hours and 45 minutes racing on the 2018-2019 calendar in their #92 Porsche 911 RSR. Thus, the two men rejoined their team on the roll call of honour as Porsche had already clinched the manufacturers’ championship title at the 2019 6 Hours of Spa.
